PROMOTING YOUR PROJECT

You’ve done the prep work now it’s time to tackle your goals. Remind your friends and teammates that there are people living in other countries and even in the U.S. that do not have access to soccer cleats, balls, and jerseys. Ask them to share so that other kids can have the opportunity to play. Give “old” gear a new life with Peace Passers!

Option 2: PROMOTE OFF-LINE

Creating an online fundraising project doesn’t mean that your only outreach will be based online. Offline strategies toward sharing your campaign are just as important as your online strategies.

Here are some creative ways to promote your project:

Flyers

Use the logo files to customize your own flyer. When making an informational flyer think about the ‘who, what, when, where & why’ of your project. Post them at your school, soccer club, church, local businesses, etc.; anywhere you think people might take an interest.

Parents

Parents (or grandparents, or siblings, or mentors) are important supporters. Give people postcards or flyers they can take to their networks to ask for support.

Make the news

Tell the news! Write up a press release and send it to several different media outlets (local newspapers, tv stations) that might take an interest in your story.

Events

Attend events related to your project — and talk up your campaign. Bring your flyers and tell people what days you are collecting equipment. Let your fans know your $ fundraising goal.

Real-Life Social Networks

Are you part of any clubs or groups? Ask to make a short announcement at the end of your next meeting and tell people about your project. “Hey, I’m doing this online fundraiser and I wanted to let you guys know. Here is a flyer.” It’s amazing how well people respond when they’re face to face with you..

COLLECTING SOCCER EQUIPMENT

COLLECTION BINS:
If you are hosting a collection drive at an event or over an extended period of time it is a good idea to use cardboard boxes, plastic/rubbermaid bins, or large trash cans as options.

Label the collection bins with the items you
intend to collect. For example “Donate Soccer Balls for Peace Passers” or “Donate Your New & Used Soccer Gear”, “Help Share the Game”. Be clear about what type of gear you want to collect. Avoid setting up a box so that people dump all of their unwanted t-shirts. Peace Passers specifically collects soccer gear.

Remember as the project leader you are responsible for covering shipping costs to send the equipment to one of the U.S. locations. It is a good idea to encourage people to donate a few dollars cash along with their cleats, ball, or jersey. If 10 people donate $5 each you already have $50 to help with the shipping.

The online fundraising platform is separate from the dollars you collect for shipping. Online donations made to your campaign site directly support the operations of Peace Passers to continue sharing the world’s game.

If you are hosting an event in which someone prefers to write a check rather than donate online please Print and make copies of the“Donation Form” Send cash or check donations directly to Peace Passers by mail:2804 Yadkin Ave Charlotte, NC 28205

COUNTING, PACKING, SHIPPING:

Step 1: ORGANIZE

Organize the gear you have collected. Create a list that summarizes the # of balls, cleats, jerseys, etc.

Step 2: EMAIL SUMMARY OF COLLECTION

Email the list of the total number of items AND type of items collected to peacepassersinfo@gmail.com.

Step 3: SHIPPING ADDRESS

Once your collection totals have been received you will receive an email directing you to the recommended U.S. address shipping location. *It is your responsibility to cover shipping fees. Peace Passers collaborates with mission teams, sports ministries & other non-profits. Your equipment donations will go directly to a group that will ensure the items are put back into play.

Step 4: CONFIRM SHIPMENT

Once you have shipped or dropped off your donations please complete the online form: DONATIONS SHIPPED OR DROPPED OFF FOR PEACE PASSERS.Do not forget this step! It is the only way Peace Passers can record your project donations.
